Christmas 2013

Hello!  I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Christmas.

No, I didn't fall off the edge of the earth (at least I don't think so).  I have been taking a much needed vacation during the holidays to "recharge".   I don't know about you, but I had so much to do and felt somewhat  (a lot) overwhelmed.  But, as usual, everything came together and we had a very merry and blessed Christmas with all our family.  I still think my batteries could charge a little more. lol.

Sharing Christmas from our house to yours.

Na-Na and Pop with Grands:  (Back L to R):  Zachary and Teale,
Bottom:  Lake and Saylor.

From left to right:  Jay and Mikki, Mark and Darla, Jordan and Jenna.

Entryway all ready for Santa and his sleigh.

Dining Room

A stocking was hung in the Entryway with care in case Old Saint Nick couldn't make it down our chimney with its really hot air!   ( I really like the way the D.R. chandelier and Christmas
tree show up in the background.)

Mugs all ready for hot chocolate and plenty of candy canes!  The little Mr. and Mrs. Snow people on top were my Mom and Dad's and hold a very special place of honor!

Candy everywhere!  Easy centerpiece for Kitchen island.

Easy and simple decorations for D.R. table.  Floated candles, cranberries and greenery in
a tall glass container and placed on each side of the tree ( what lovely ambiance when everything
is all lit up at night).
Centerpiece on the kitchen table consisted of a faux cranberry wreath with a cake stand
set in the middle. A clear, fluted bowl nestled on top filled with water and
real cranberries with floating white candles.  My sister gave me this idea and
I just love it!

View from the top.

Hope you enjoy.  I will be posting some more in the next week.  Come back
and visit.  Love to have you.

Blessings and may everyone have a Happy, Healthy and Blessed New Year!!

Happy Halloween!

Wanted to wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween.  It is raining here in East Texas, so I don't think there will be many children out this year.   That never stopped us though from having a party inside with the kids.  I have so many wonderful memories of past Halloween parties at our house.  We always had a bonfire and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows.  Then, Mr. "N" took all of us kids (young & old) for a hay ride with his tractor.  Of course, you had to be on your guard for ghouls & goblins jumping out occasionally.

Sharing a few more pics of Fall and Halloween decor with you.

Update on new puppy:

I have been very busy with our new puppy "Casper".  I will be posting some photos of him soon.  He is now 3 1/2 months old and soooo like a toddler.  Wants to put everything in his mouth and play all the time - Whew!  Older brother "Munchie" has finally accepted his little brother and they play a lot.  Take care.

'Til Then,

Many Blessings,

Fall From The Past

Welcome!  I'm so glad you stopped by.  I have been out of pocket for a little while with my back, but starting to feel better. :)  I am presently working on a little redesign on my website updating it somewhat...may take a while..learning as I go.  There is always something to learn, right?

Today, I wanted to revisit some of my Fall photos from last year that I did not have an opportunity to share.   It still does not seem like Fall here in East Texas. :(  But, can't complain too much, we are getting needed rain.  God is good!

Well, here we go...hope you see something to inspire you!  If you do, I would love to hear from you.  Your comments always make me smile. :) :)

This was our very simple, Thanksgiving table last year.  Just used what I had on hand.  Lots of gold, orange and white.  Beautiful ambiance when all the candles were lit.   I did have more plates, bowls, coffee mugs to put out, but we were not using them, so everyone said simple would be better.  (I like a complete place setting on the table, don't you)?

Side Table Vignette

Added these small faux pumpkins for a little more color.

Fall entryway centerpiece.  A small faux hay block from "Michael's" was nestled into my
black iron tray stand.  Then I just tucked in a small, Fall swag in the front with a couple of
cute, little, scary ghosts hiding throughout.  Of course, Mr. Raven wanted to be included (he's such a ham).  A few faux leaves were inserted into the top of the hay bundle with a large pumpkin to top it off.
Are you decorating for Fall this year?  Hope you're having fun.  I will post some more Fall/Halloween pics this week, so come on back!

Fall Centerpiece and Entryway

Guess what's coming out of the sky here today in East Texas?  Rain!  Thank you Lord, we really needed it.  We were all cheering today like it was snowing or something. :)  Hope all of you needing rain also received some.  Now, hopefully, it will cool off a little and really feel like Fall.

Changed up my page a little for Fall.  I need a color change once in a while, don't you?  I have a few photos of my Fall decor for this year.  It is still a work in progress.  I change up, add some items here and there and it finally all comes together.  Next week, I'll try to get my real pumpkins and gourds.

New Family Addition

Hey everyone!  Hope all of you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend.  I have been very busy lately due to a new addition to our family.  I would like to present...."Casper", our new baby Maltese.  He about 7 weeks old now...oh my, how little.  But he is doing just great.  He is eating and drinking very well.  I really think I need some baby diapers :) :)
I forgot how much time you have to  put in for these babies.  (My back and neck agree - Ugh!)

Where's my brothers and sisters?

What's that bright light?

Play Time

They are just like little babies: eat, play, sleep,

His older brother "Munchie", our little Yorkie, is not a very happy camper.  We have to really make over Munchie so he doesn't feel left out.  I hope they will be able to bond.

Well, have a great Wednesday and many blessings!

'Til then,

Fall Time At Home...Ah!

Happy Fall Everyone!

Fall Time At Home Ah!

Sharing this delicious recipe.  Waiting for my son to come over to make this again.  He loves Apples and Cinnamon!  Fun and easy.

2 teaspoons butter, melted
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon milk

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Lightly sprinkle with flour.
Roll dough until perforations are sealed and dough is flat.
Peel, core and slice apples. Cut into quarters.
Combine sugar and spices in bowl. Add apples and toss lightly.
Place apple mixture down center of dough, approximately 2-inches wide.

Secluded Garden Office/Bedroom Update

Hi!  Come on in.  I have something to share with you.
This is the Louis day bed (from Ballards) that I have been longing for ever since we did this room last year.  It just places the finishing touch to this Secluded Garden Room.  Now, I never have to come out of my secluded room! Ahh!  Peace and quiet . :) :)  I can recline, nap or watch my favorite DVD's (Phantom of the Opera, Runaway Bride, Mama Mia, Gone With the Wind,) to name a few, especially when Mr. N is watching Westerns and Boxing :)
I covered the mattress with a twin sheet set from Better Homes & Garden at Wal-mart.  The sheet set was very nice and silky and only $18.00! Matched the curtains beautifully!  I only used the fitted sheet for now.  When we have guests, I will add the flat sheet and comforter.

Pillows and throw from Ross.  I hope to get a lot more pillows!

Other side of room.

Moved my "desk" over to another corner.  TV is on above left wall.  Now, all I need is a Louis's fun to have something to look for isn't it?  I need a good deal though, have to stay within my budget.

Initial burlap pillow - Ross

Another view.

Ah Louis Louis, Oh, Oh, Away I Go!  :)  :)   French script rug - Ballards.   I think I luv a little French Decor -We We?

Well, I have to feed Mr. N - better get to cooking!   Mac, Ham and Cheese tonight.  Hope you are  having a great week.
