Easter Love

Hey Everyone!  Hope you are having a great week getting ready for Easter and maybe no snow??  Wanted to post this photo (the big reveal) today as I will be a little busy in the next few days preparing for Easter.  It takes me a lot longer to prepare than it used to :(   I have to do things on special days instead of doing everything in one day.  Ham and potato salad on one day, cake on one day, shopping for Easter candy for the Grands on one day, (you get the drift).  Whew!

This is the cross I asked Mr. "N" to make.   Didn't he do a great job?  He also found the "crown of thorns" from our pasture in the back yard....(the real thing...I didn't even know anything like that existed around here).   The "he has Risen" text is from "Dear Lillie's" post that she so graciously shared with us last year.   Since Mr. "N" as been soooo good, the Easter Bunny just might bake him that cake he wanted for Easter.  My dear, sweet neighbor gave me the receipe (which I nicknamed "A Little Slice Of Heaven" omg!!)  I will try to take a picture and post the receipe after Easter.

Wishing all of you a very Happy and Blessed Easter Holiday and may God Bless you and your loved ones!

The Crucifixion

"It is good for us to recall that, when cast down in sorrow, we are especially dear to Christ.  We have only to ask and He will give meaning to our life and comfort us with His love"

"The cause of our salvation is Jesus' death upon the cross".

"The story of the resurrection of Christ is the story of hope eternal.  It is the story of the conquest of death and suffering."

Many Blessings,

Secluded Garden Office Revisit

Hi friends!  Grab a cup of tea, come on in and sit a while.
Thought I would post a few of these photos from last Spring when I redecorated my extra bedroom (my last little bird flew the nest) into my "Secluded Garden Office".  I love to go here when I need rest and quiet and most of my blogging in done in here.  I still need a sign that says, "Shh, I'm In My Quiet Place" on the door :)  The colors are my favorite and are very soothing and calming.  (I may put a day bed in here)....Thinking about an antique white one to match the desk/table; then, I could also "dream" in here :)  By the way, the aqua color is actually called "Secluded Garden" by Valspar I believe.  I just painted the one wall, but now wish I would have painted all the walls this color.  (May still do this when my mojo gets working):) :)

If you would like to see more just visit my post "Secluded Garden Office".  Hope you see something that inspires you!

Easter Mantle

Well, I finally finished my mantel for Easter.  I really had no idea what to do this year, but somehow it all came together.  On each end of the mantle, I placed some empty light green wine jugs and filled them with sunflowers.   My girlfriend gave me a bunch and I just love creating things with them.  They also look very elegant with just one long stem Easter Lilly in a little water.  Hope the Easter Bunny brings me some!

I used lemons (I haven't colored any eggs yet) to sit on top of the filigree iron stand and a couple white bunnies. I smile when I look at it.

Can be difficult to decorate with Mr. N's TV up there, but we can do it!

Easter Decor

Hi everyone!  Hope you are getting in the mood to decorate.  As promised, here are few more decorations I have been working on for Easter/Spring.  I really have just added a few touches this year. I changed up a bit and used yellow, white and green.  Sorry for some of the fuzzy pictures, it's the photographer not the camera :(   (Experimenting with camera) (I've been a little "out of focus" also lately :( :(

Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail on the swing. Peter is the little one on the left.

Just added this sweet little bunny to this centerpiece in the Dining Room for now.

Hip and Hoppity looking for eggs!
I again apologize for the fuzzy pics :( :(    I guess I really need an eye exam which I have been putting off- Ugh.  I really thought these were actually good until I put my reading glasses on. lol   This getting older is for the birds!  Will do better and probably change camera setting to auto!

Hope all of you have a wonderful week and come back soon for the big reveal.  Hubby made me something very appropriate and inspirational for my Easter decor and I will post it soon!

Easter Wreath Redo

Hi Everyone!   So glad you stopped by.

I really wanted a new wreath for my front door this year for Easter.   Well, I went searching through my closet and found an old, egg shaped, vine wreath that I have had for years.  It was decorated very pretty, with different colored pastel flowers and Easter picks.

Goodies from the original vine wreath.

I wanted something a little more natural and could leave up until Summer.  So, I got all my Easter decor out and came up with this.  I placed a Spring garland I had on hand on the left side of the wreath (with floral wire) and made a burlap bow.   I added the bird nest on the bottom that I got last year at Big Lots, I believe.   I really liked the way it turned out and best of all - no cost!  Whoo-Hoo!  I cut the burlap for the bow from a burlap feed sack I had originally got at a Tractor Supply place (original cost per bag $2.00).  This was a few years ago and I have done so much with these bags.

Out with the Old and In with the New!
Sweet Momma and Baby Birds with siblings on the way!

Final photo.  I'm thinking about adding some text
under the wreath - maybe, S P R I N G or  W E L C O M E - What do you think??
