Fall at the Nance's 2014

Happy Fall!   We are in the mid-eighty's here and the weather is so nice.  God is Good!

As promised, here are some Fall decorations at our home this year.  Hope you see something to inspire you.  The only item I bought this year was an led orange candle,,,Ya-Hoo!  Click on the pics to enlarge.

Entryway - pumpkins light up at night.

Side table in Dining Room with a little Fall.

New area rug (from Ross) and pillows in the Living Room (animal prints are a favorite thing of mine).   Don't tell anyone, but the pillows were from Big Lots and on sale!  I just love a bargain.
Just little changes that brightens up the room and me :) :)  Oh, I almost forgot, our little Maltese "Casper" seems to fit right in with this decor.  He's one year old now and thinks he is a big boy and may I say, very vocal!

I nicknamed him "Yippy" because all he does, is go around the
house yip, yip, yipping!  He is Daddy's baby for sure.  It's O.K.
with me.....Daddy's the one who has to get up in the middle
of the night to let him out.  He will not go out for me..just Daddy:) :)

For Fall mantle, I used everything I had on hand.  Filled the Tuscan urns with Fall
flowers and faux wheat.  Next, Fall garland draped across mantel and added a couple
white pumpkins.

Welcome Fall - bucket with harvest items for the hearth.

Lantern all dressed up for Fall.

This is a favorite of mine.  So easy.  Just fill the top (hold it upside down)with any Fall decor
you may have and then (while holding top upside down) place the bottom on top and
turn over.  Wha-la!

Baker's rack for Fall

Fall centerpiece for kitchen table.  Just fill a pretty vase with a bunch
of Fall flowers and drape over on one side.  Very Easy!

Thanks for coming by and looking.  Your comments are always welcome.  I love hearing from  you.
Hope everyone has a great day and "Til then,

Many Blessings,
Carol

New Bamboo Flooring

Happy Fall Ya-ll!

Haven't posted for a while....bloggers block, I think. :)   Hope all of you are decorating for Fall and having fun.

We (should say Hubby and friend Jeff) have been busy installing a new bamboo floor in the LR, DR, Hallway and Master Bedroom.  If you have ever put a floor down with concrete underneath - it makes a lot of grit and grime!  We had tile in the hallway before and Hubby had to hammer the tile and scrape all of it.  My sinuses were not too happy!

Here are a few photos of new floor.  First time ever doing a bamboo floor.  So far, no problems.  The boards have varied shades of (pecan?) in them, so they go with everything.  We tried three samples before we chose this one.  Click on the pic to enlarge.

Close up of Stranded Bamboo Floor (should have turned of the flash!) :(

Living Room.  Looks much lighter in this shot with the sun coming in. It has no red hues in it, believe me.  As you can see, I've done a little decorating for Fall.  Will post some more later.  The blue wing back chair soon will be replaced with a smaller dark brown or black leather chair (maybe  two facing the fireplace.) What do ya think??  Christmas (I hope).

Hallway is much happier now.

Entryway.

Master Bedroom.  Munchie is such a ham!

I will be taking more photos of my Fall decor, so please come back to see what I came up with this year.

Thanks for visiting and as always, I love your comments!

Many Blessings,   Carol

Everything Is Coming Up Roses

Hi!  I'm Carol.  I'm so glad you stopped by.... please come on in and smell the roses!

Sharing today some photos of the Knock-Out Roses we have in our front flowerbeds.    When we planted these, they were really small. We really wondered if the extreme, west, hot sun that we get in the front of the house would kill them .  We have lived here a long time and have tried a multitude of plants, shrubs, etc., but with no luck - too HOT!.  I was really starting to think of cactus and a rock garden for out there.  But, they are very true to their name.... you can't knock-out these guys.

The first photos are when we came back from vacation the end of April before being clipped back.

Clippings from the roses bushes today.  Mr. "N" said, "Better get your pruners, it's time to clip"!

I really liked them in this large bucket from Southern Lady.

Once Mr. "N" trims back all the roses, it will take a couple weeks or so before they start blooming again and will continue to bloom  all the way to Christmas here in East Texas.  Sometimes, that presents a small problem decorating for Fall.

First of all, I would like to give all the credit to our Amazing God for creating such beauty for us to enjoy.  Secondly, to my hard-working hubby.  I definitely do not have a "green thumb",  nor am I a gardener;  hubby does all this.  I'm just the "the harvester".  I do help him a little bit while planting though.  I am the "hand me this and hand me that" person. :)

This shell shaped container was begging for some roses on kitchen table.

I will be posting more "rose" photos this week.   Hope you come back and visit soon.

Do you like roses?  What kind do you have?  Would love to hear from you.
Hope everyone has a blessed week.

Til Then,

Many Blessings, Carol

Spring, Roses and Tea Parties

Hi!  So glad you stopped by.  I have been thinking of Spring and all our many blessings.    Thought I would share with you a little vignette I did for the corner of my kitchen counter top a while back when my roses were still in bloom.  They should be blooming again in a few weeks (I can't wait).  I love to cut them and place them around the house.  Fresh cut flowers always cheers me up.

Vignettes are so easy to put together.  Just gather some items together with similar colors and theme and wha-la!   See what you can come up with.  I would love to see them.

Roses, Tea Parties and pretty China tea cups and saucers.  What else could a girl ask for??

Hope everyone has a wonderful Spring and don't forget to
Count Your Blessings!

Pretty As A Peacock (Master Bath)

Hi Everyone!  Thanks for stopping by.  ( Please bear with me, I am working on a new header for my page, but Blogger not cooperating at the moment)=Ugh!

My daughter just moved into her new home and graciously agreed to let me post some photos of her Master Bathroom (especially, since I went shopping with her).  But everyone knows I love to decorate, so we were having a great time.

Everywhere we went, we saw a lot of "peacock" decor and couldn't resist the beautiful color hues of the peacock which we thought would go nicely with the tile in her bathroom.   She took these with her phone and I think they turned out pretty good, don't you?

This majestic peacock picture is definitely the focus point in the Master Bath. The picture has beautiful gold and silver tones which coordinate with her bath fixtures and wall color.  Of course, a silver vase filled with peacock feathers sitting on the ledge were a must.

This photo includes the precious peacock lamp with silver and gold tones on her double sink vanity.  She added the peacock feathers to the shade to dress it up a bit and placed the lamp on a small Venetian mirror.  Cute idea huh?

Found this cute "peacock" light.   Place a small tea light candle inside before you bathe and watch all the dancing colors.  Don't forget to light the candles in the window.  I'm ready to relax, are you?
Pretty framed peacock placed above towel bar.

Well friends, hope you enjoyed the grand tour and watch out for those peacocks, they are everywhere!

Blessings, Carol

Mardi Gras Decor Revisit

What plans have you made for the New Year (2014)?  I find if I set a few new goals for myself, I tend to try harder to achieve them.  Here are a few of mine:

1.   Take at least 15 minutes to do yoga each morning.  So far, so good.  Two days and counting.
Stretching is so relaxing, relieves tension in your muscles and give you more energy
for the rest of your day.  I also found that I don't take a nap on the days I do Yoga.

2.    Eat healthier and.... No more Ho-Ho's and cupcakes!  Weight Watcher's cupcakes will have to do.
But, I have to have my chocolate each evening!  A couple of Hershey's kisses.

3.    Try to read my Bible every day. (I really need to work on this one).

4.    Visit a nursing home once a month.

That's all for me.  I hope I will be able to stick to all of them.

After Christmas I don't do much decorating, just a little Mardi Gras decor:

A Mardi Gras Revisit

Mardi Gras Mantle

Changed entry way up a bit for 2012

My favorite Mardi Gras mask!  I would love to wear one of
these every day.  No makeup and no hair style and you look good!

Mardi Gras Wreath for the front door.
Do you decorate for Mardi Gras?  I would love to see some of your decor.
Well, 'Til Then,

Many Blessings,  Carol
